I recently had the opportunity to produce, film, and edit another episode of the Tell Me podcast, hosted by Sam Stokes.

In this conversation, Sam sits down with writer and graphic novel creator Ethan Murphy for a discussion that begins with comics, graphic novels, and superhero stories but quickly expands into something much larger. Together they explore storytelling, creativity, the writing process, and the ways fictional characters can help us better understand ourselves and the world around us.

Sometimes the characters we admire show us something about ourselves.

One of my favorite things about this episode is how naturally the conversation evolves. What starts as a discussion about the difference between comics and graphic novels becomes a thoughtful exploration of why people connect so deeply with stories in the first place. Ethan shares insights from his work as a writer, while Sam brings the curiosity and thoughtful questions that make Tell Me such an engaging listen.

Sam And Ethan

There are plenty of laughs along the way, but beneath the humor is a conversation about resilience, creativity, and the role stories can play in helping us navigate life’s challenges.

I’m grateful to have played a small part in bringing this episode to life. Check out the full conversation below and let me know what you think.
